Indications for use

The InterX products are effective in managing pain associated with soft tissue dysfunction and in controlling chronic, severe pain. It is appropriate for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions and focuses on decreasing pain and restoring function.

The InterX products are marketed for the following indications:

  • Symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain
  • Acute and chronic pain relief and the resulting increase in range of motion
  • Adjunctive treatment in the management of post surgical and post traumatic pain
  • Muscle relaxation, reducing muscle cramps and spasms
  • Enhancing neuromuscular re-education

NRG is an ISO 13485 Registered Firm and the InterX products carry the European CE mark based upon evidence that supports its safety and intended use. The InterX products are cleared by the US FDA as a pain management device.

The InterX products can be applied independently as a full treatment or to work concurrently with existing therapy (physical or occupational) activities to meet and enhance goals. Experience has shown that the InterX products can help with patients where other treatments are unsuccessful or have reached a plateau, enabling a medical practice to achieve therapy goals and improve the clinical outcomes for their patients.

Reimbursement
InterX therapy is an attended treatment to reduce pain and more quickly achieve therapy goals. Typically, the InterX product can be used as an adjunctive therapy to routine physical or occupational therapies. Based upon how the InterX product is incorporated into the plan of patient care, InterX therapy may be billed in multiple ways. CPT codes available for use include 97001, 97002, 97003, 97004, 97032, 97110, 97112, 97140, 97530 and 97535.*

The InterX product can be applied as an independent therapy to reduce pain and improve quality of life for patients suffering from chronic conditions (RSD, spondylosis, osteoarthritis). Use of the InterX product is as a primary modality can be billed as a distinct therapy, depending upon the specific practice of the treating clinic.
